Please practice the first 16 high frequency words every day:

a, I, to, the, in, is, that, it, went, he, was, my, of, with, and, then

Have a go at the HFW quiz 2do on purple mash.

 

Monday

Phonics – our sound of the day is ‘air’, as in hair. Please practice writing this grapheme (sound) in your home learning pack, and then complete the activity ‘air’ activity on purple mash.

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

 

Writing – practice writing all the letters in the curly caterpillar family: c, a, o, q, g, d, s, f

 

Maths – Explore Maths City on Purple Mash, and complete a task of your choice. Don’t forget to save and send us over your lovely learning.

 

Tuesday

Phonics – our sound of the day is ‘ure’, as in pure. Please practice writing this grapheme (sound) in your home learning pack, and then complete the activity ‘ure’ activity on purple mash.

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

 

Writing – can you complete the ‘describing spring’ 2do on Purple Mash – what happens in spring? What does spring look like? With an adults help, you could use the internet to research some interesting information to include in your work.

 

Maths –complete the ‘bubble bonds’ 2do on Purple mash, to practice your number bonds. Have a go at writing the different number bonds to 10. (1+9, 2+8, 3+7, 4+6, 5+5, 6+4, 7+3, 8+2, 9+1).

 

Wednesday

Phonics – our sound of the day is ‘igh’ as in ‘night’. Please practice writing this grapheme (sound) in your home learning pack, and then complete the activity ‘igh’ activity on purple mash.

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

 

Writing practice writing all the letters in the ladder family: l, I, j, u, y, t

 

Maths – using the number cards you made for a previous maths challenge, can you count out objects around our house to match the numbers? Maybe you have 3 apple? Or 20 grains of rice?

 

Thursday

Phonics – our sound of the day is ‘ear’ as in ‘hear’. Please practice writing this grapheme (sound) in your home learning pack, and then complete the activity ‘ear’ activity on purple mash.

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

 

Writing – choose a sentence starter from your home learning pack and write a sentence about the picture you can see. Don’t forget those fingers spaces, capital letters and full stops.

 

Maths – with an adult, cut up some squares of paper and write the numbers 1-20 on them. Can you put them in the correct order? Ask an adult to hide some of the numbers, can you find which ones are missing?

 

Friday

Phonics – recap all sounds learnt in the week, and first 16 high frequency words.

 

Writing – complete pages 8-11 in your CVC booklet inside the home learning pack.

 

Maths – complete fish-o-metic number activity on Purple Mash. With an adults help,  could have a go at writing some of your own number sentences to complete one you have finished.

 

 

Weekly Project –

I bet like us, you are all missing playing in the park. Have a go at using your imagination, and pretending you are in your favourite park. Can you complete the park 2do’s on Purple Mash (create your own park, and using your sense to describe a park).

If you have some pens and pencils at your house, why no design your own play park, or theme park!

Can you also have a think about which minibeasts you might find hiding in the park, or buzzing around the flowers?

 

If you love books, why not have a go at completing this reading bingo challenge. All you have to do is pick a box, and read a book to match each day.
