Please practice the first 16 high frequency words every day:

a, I, to, the, in, is, that, it, went, he, was, my, of, with, and, then

Have a go at the HFW quiz 2do on purple mash.

 

 

Monday

Phonics – We have moved onto phase 4 of our phonics. Let’s practice  our blending and segmenting by playing buried treasure on https://new.phonicsplay.co.uk/ try to practice with all of the phase 2 and 3 sounds.

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

 

Writing – Complete pages 14 and 15 of your cvc booklet in your home learning pack.

 

Maths – This week we will be looking at time. Listen to the story What’s the time Mr Wolf by Debi Gliori. The video is at the bottom of this page. Then you can play What’s the time Mr Wolf with somebody at home. Can you make your own clock to tell the time with?

                                                              

 

Tuesday

Phonics – We are looking at blending and segmenting, complete the 2do:-lk, -lp, -lt on purple mash.

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

 

Writing – choose a sentence starter from your home learning pack and write a sentence about the picture you can see. Don’t forget those fingers spaces, capital letters and full stops.

 

Maths –  Have a go at the clock activity on purple mash. Place the numbers in the correct place then try to make different times.  Have a think about what you might do at those times during the day.

 

Wednesday

Phonics – We are looking at blending and segmenting, complete the 2do: -ft, -lt, -lf on purple mash.

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

 

Writing- Practice writing some of your high frequency words. Can you put one into a sentence?

 

Maths – Think about all of the different things you do in the day. Can you draw some pictures of the different things and put them in the right order? Have a go at labelling them and don’t forget to send us a picture if you can.

 

Thursday

Phonics – Explore the sentence substitution game on phonics play, can you build a different sentence by muddling up the words? Read it aloud with an adult, does it make sense?

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

 

Writing – can you write a list of rhyming words? Pick a sound and see how many words you can find to rhyme with it. Can you find more than 5? E.g CAT – hat, mat, sat, fat, rat, that, pat

See, how many you could put into a silly sentence e.g The fat rat pat the cat that sat on the hat.

 

Maths – Complete the jelly sequencing activity on purple mash. Think about what you might do first then go from there.

 

 

Friday

 

Today is a bank holiday, do something that makes you feel happy.

 

PSED- Complete the emotions 2do each week. Talk to the people you are with about how you are feeling. This might be different every time and that is ok. Remember that it is ok to feel all different emotions but it is always good to talk about them.

 

Weekly Project –

This week we are looking at minibeasts and animals. Can you find something in your house to create your own minibeast or animal? It could be made from anything you like- maybe lego or recyclable materials.
