Please practice the first 16 high frequency words every day:

Monday

Phonics – our sound of the day is ‘ai’. Please practice writing this grapheme (sound) in your home learning pack, and then complete the activity ‘ai’ activity on purple mash.

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

 

Writing – practice writing all the letters in the one armed robot family: r, n, m, h, b, k, p.

 

Maths – Complete the 2do: a fish o matic game on purple mash.

 

Tuesday

Phonics – our sound of the day is ‘ee’. Please practice writing this grapheme (sound) in your home learning pack, and then complete the activity ‘ee’ activity on purple mash.

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

 

Writing – choose a sentence starter from your home learning pack and write a sentence about the picture you can see. Don’t forget those fingers spaces, capital letters and full stops.

 

Maths – Have a go at writing out some addition and subtraction number sentences. Make sure you put the right symbols  = + -. Think about their names and what they mean. How do they change your number sentence?

 

Wednesday

Phonics – our sound of the day is ‘oa’. Please practice writing this grapheme (sound) in your home learning pack, and then complete the activity ‘cth’ activity on purple mash.

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

 

Writing practice writing all the letters in the zigzag monster letters: v, w, x, z

 

Maths – Explore the mental maths train on https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/mental-maths-train .

 

Thursday

Phonics – our sound of the day is ‘oo’ as in ‘boot’ and ‘oo’ as in ‘wood’. Please practice writing this grapheme (sound) in your home learning pack, and then complete the activity ‘oo’ activity on purple mash.

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

 

Writing – can you colour, label and describe the Gruffalo in the Purple Mash tasks - We had been sharing lots of Julia Donaldson stories this half term, so please encourage your child to tell you about the story of the Gruffalo. 

 

Maths –  Have a look in your home learning packs and complete one of the I spy addition activities.

 

Friday

Phonics – recap all sounds learnt in the week, and first 16 high frequency words.

 

Writing – complete pages 4-7 in your CVC booklet inside the home learning pack.

 

Maths – What number songs can you remember? Share them with your grown-ups. Think about the 5 little ducks that went swimming one day or the sausages sizzling in a pan. Do you know which numbers come next?

 

Weekly Project –

This week we had planned to learn all about Easter. Have a look at the Easter story, what do you think? Have a talk with your grown-ups about how the story made you feel? Have a go at decorating your own Easter egg- can you put a repeating pattern on it?

Have a go at completing one of the spring themed 2do’s on Purple Mash, and remember to save them so we can see you fantastic work!
