Please practice the first 16 high frequency words every day:

Monday

Phonics – our sound of the day is ‘ch’. Please practice writing this grapheme (sound) in your home learning pack, and then complete the activity ‘ch’ activity on purple mash.

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

 

Writing – practice writing all the letters in the curly caterpillar family: c, a, o, q, g, d, s, f

 

Maths – explore simple city maths activities on purple mash, and become familiar how to use the site. Have a go at a few maths games – enjoy!

 

 

Tuesday

Phonics – our sound of the day is ‘sh’. Please practice writing this grapheme (sound) in your home learning pack, and then complete the activity ‘sh’ activity on purple mash.

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

 

Writing – choose a sentence starter from your home learning pack and write a sentence about the picture you can see. Don’t forget those fingers spaces, capital letters and full stops.

 

Maths –complete the ‘bubble bonds’ 2do on Purple mash, to practice your number bonds. Have a go at writing the different number bonds to 10. (1+9, 2+8, 3+7, 4+6, 5+5, 6+4, 7+3, 8+2, 9+1).

 

 

 

Wednesday

Phonics – our sound of the day is ‘th’ as in ‘then’. Please practice writing this grapheme (sound) in your home learning pack, and then complete the activity ‘th’ activity on purple mash.

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

 

Writing practice writing all the letters in the ladder family: l, I, j, u, y, t

 

Maths – climb your stairs and count in 2’s. Then complete an activity of your choice on the ‘maths challenge’ sheets in your home learning pack.

 

 

 

Thursday

Phonics – our sound of the day is ‘th’ as in ‘thin’. Please practice writing this grapheme (sound) in your home learning pack, and then complete the activity ‘th’ activity on purple mash.

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

 

Writing – can you write a list of rhyming words? Pick a sound and see how many words you can find to rhyme with it. Can you find more than 5? E.g CAT – hat, mat, sat, fat, rat, that, pat

 

Maths – with an adult, cut up some squares of paper and write the numbers 1-20 on them. Can you put them in the correct order? Ask an adult to hide some of the numbers, can you find which ones are missing?

 

 

 

Friday

Phonics – recap all sounds learnt in the week, and first 16 high frequency words.

 

Writing – complete pages 1-3 in your CVC booklet inside the home learning pack.

 

Maths – using your home made number cards from yesterday, play a game of higher or lower. Mix the cards up, choose one card and place the rest in a pile. Can you guess if the next card will be higher or lower? Were you right?

 

 

 

Weekly Project –

This week we had planned to learn all about Spring, including mother and baby animals, the weather, the signs of Spring, and how Spring is the same/different to the other seasons.

Have a go at completing one of the spring themed 2do’s on Purple Mash, and remember to save them so we can see you fantastic work!
