Each week there is a Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Virtual School Games Challenge, this week is Netball. Look under the virtual challenge tab for a daily challenge card.

 

Please practice the first 16 high frequency words every day:

a, I, to, the, in, is, that, it, went, he, was, my, of, with, and, then

Have a go at the HFW quiz 2do on purple mash.

 

Monday

Phonics – our sound of the day is ‘ur’. Please practice writing this grapheme (sound) in your home learning pack, and then complete the activity ‘ur’ activity on purple mash.

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

 

Writing – practice writing all the letters in the one armed robot family: r, m, n, h, b, k, p

Can you think of words which start with each of these sounds? Have a go at writing each word.

 

Maths – complete the longer and shorter activities on purple mash. Can you find some objects around your house to order by height and length?

 

Tuesday

Phonics – our sound of the day is ‘ow’. Please practice writing this grapheme (sound) in your home learning pack, and then complete the activity ‘ow’ activity on purple mash.

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

 

Writing – choose a sentence starter from your home learning pack and write a sentence about the picture you can see. Don’t forget those fingers spaces, capital letters and full stops.

 

Maths –complete the ‘bubble bonds’ 2do on Purple mash, to practice your number bonds. Have a go at writing the different number bonds to 10. (1+9, 2+8, 3+7, 4+6, 5+5, 6+4, 7+3, 8+2, 9+1).

 

Wednesday

Phonics – our sound of the day is ‘oi’. Please practice writing this grapheme (sound) in your home learning pack, and then complete the activity ‘oi’ activity on purple mash.

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

 

Writing - practice writing all the letters in the zigzag monster family: v, w, x, z.

Can you think of words which start with each of these sounds? Have a go at writing each word.

 

Maths – Complete the 2D shape picture challenge on purple mash – make a picture of your choice, can you tell and adult the names of the shapes you have used, and what features they have, e.g “ a triangle has 3 corners.”

 

Thursday

Phonics – our sound of the day is ‘er’. Please practice writing this grapheme (sound) in your home learning pack, and then complete the activity ‘er’ activity on purple mash.

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

 

Writing – can you create a poster all about washing your hands (purple mash). Can you tell an adult why it is really important to wash your hands? Have you got any excellent hand washing tips?

 

Maths – have a go at some number recognition fun on your computer or tablet. Complete the numbers 0-9 typing 2do – how quickly can you press the numbers on your screen?

 

 

Friday

Phonics – recap all sounds learnt in the week, and first 16 high frequency words.

 

Writing – complete pages 12-13 in your CVC booklet inside the home learning pack.

 

Maths – using your home made number cards from yesterday, play a game of higher or lower. Mix the cards up, choose one card and place the rest in a pile. Can you guess if the next card will be higher or lower? Were you right?

 

PSED- Complete the emotions 2do each week. Talk to the people you are with about how you are feeling. This might be different every time and that is ok. Remember that it is ok to feel all different emotions but it is always good to talk about them.

 

Weekly Project –

I bet like us, you are all missing playing in the park. Have a go at using your imagination, and pretending you are in your favourite park. Can you complete the park 2do’s on Purple Mash (create your own park, and using your sense to describe a park).

If you have some pens and pencils at your house, why no design your own play park, or theme park!
