Please practice the first 16 high frequency words every day:

a, I, to, the, in, is, that, it, went, he, was, my, of, with, and, then

Have a go at the HFW quiz 2do on purple mash.

 

You can also have a go at the Virtual School Games Challenge, this week it is tennis! Click on the tab on the previous page for more information.

 

Monday

Phonics – Let’s practice  our blending and segmenting by playing buried treasure on https://new.phonicsplay.co.uk/ try to practice with all of the phase 2 and 3 sounds.

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

 

Writing – Complete page 20 of your cvc booklet in your home learning pack.

 

Maths – This week we will be looking at halving/ sharing and doubling. Have a go at the purple mash 2paint on your 2do list. Create a symmetrical ladybird, count the spots on one side, the mirror makes it the same on the other side. Now you know what double the number is. I wonder how many spots you have all together when you put 3 spots or 7? Have a go at writing or typing the correct numeral on your picture.

Tuesday

Phonics – We are looking at blending and segmenting, complete the 2do:-mp, -nd.

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

 

Writing – choose a sentence starter from your home learning pack and write a sentence about the picture you can see. Don’t forget those fingers spaces, capital letters and full stops.

 

Maths –  can you count in 2’s, 5’s or 10’s? See how high you can count, you could try and write this down or make your own number line to help you.

 

Wednesday

Phonics – We are looking at blending and segmenting, complete the 2do: -nk, -nt on purple mash.

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

Writing- Practice writing some of your high frequency words. Can you out one into a sentence?

Maths – Complete the symmetry game on topmarks https://www.topmarks.co.uk/symmetry/symmetry-matching each shape or object is cut in half, find the matching half to complete the puzzle.

 

Thursday

Phonics – Complete the animal caption 2do on purple mash. Can you write a sentence about the picture?

Then practice first 16 high frequency words. Read a story of your choice with an adult, or listen to an audio book (see website in links).

 

Writing – Complete page 21 of your cvc booklet in your home learning pack.

 

Maths – Can you play a game of dominos? If you don’t have any then you could try and make your own. Or try some of the challenges at the bottom of this page, don’t forget to send us a picture.

 

 

Friday

Phonics – Practice your blending and segmenting and play buried treasure https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/BuriedTreasure2.html

Writing – choose a sentence starter from your home learning pack and write a sentence about the picture you can see. Don’t forget those fingers spaces, capital letters and full stops.

 

Maths – Complete the maths city 2do. Then click on the party house and then on the party food activity. Can you share the food equally between the children? That means they all need the same amount on their plates.

 

PSED- Complete the emotions 2do each week. Talk to the people you are with about how you are feeling. This might be different every time and that is ok. Remember that it is ok to feel all different emotions but it is always good to talk about them.

 

Weekly Project –

This week we are looking at minibeasts and animals. Can you find something in your house to create your own minibeast or animal? It could be made from anything you like- maybe lego or recyclable materials.
