Maths - Today we will be learning about inverse operations. Inverses 'undo' an operation. The inverse of addition is subtraction and the inverse of multiplication is division. So..... 5 + 3 = 8 the inverse would be 8 - 3 = 5 and for 4 x 5 = 20 the inverse would be 20 ÷ 5 = 4. The activity today involves first working out the missing operation and then writing the inverse.
15 _________ = 23. What operation and quantity could be missing? The answer is bigger so we need to add. How much do we add? Count on from 15 to 23. So the missing operation and amount is + 8. The completed calculation then becomes 15 + 8 = 23. Finally, the inverse will be 23 - 8 = 15. Phew!!
If you want a challenge try the second sheet which uses multiplication and division.
English- Next week you will be writing a persuasive piece of writing based on one of the environmental issues we have started looking at as part of our science. In this piece of writing you will have to argue a point of view and then giving evidence that supports your view. Today we would like to research one of the following areas:
Make as many notes as possible about your chosen topic and think about what arguments you would like to create. Tomorrow you will plan out your persuasive argument. Attached are lots of PowerPoints and information sheets to help with your research but please do some more of your own using books or the internet. You can always ask an adult to help you if needed.
RE- This week you are going to be thinking about values. Watch this video https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/religious-studies-ks2-meet-simran/zd6d7nb and think about values the Sikh girl has. Do any of these values match with your values? Think about the community you are apart of and what values you have. Follow the pdf below to support you.
Music- This week we would like you to follow this link and then draw a portrait of someone and write a musical memory about that person. Watch this link below and watch week 3.
Attached is the pdf with all the instructions.
