Welcome

Wednesday 1st July 2020

Good Morning and welcome to July!

Maths - Continuing our work on fractions, today we will just concentrate on the fraction 'half.'  When we find halves we are dividing by 2 to find 2 equal parts of a shape or an amount. Watch the video and answer the questions.

English-  Today we are going to be looking at how we can create rhythm and rhyme within our own poetry. Read the Eagle poem again and note any rhyming words found. Is there a pattern to the rhyme? How many syllables does each line have? What do you think this does? First we would like you to create lists of words you would like to use in your poem. Create some rhyming words that you could use within your poem.

  • Eg. Sky, bye, fly, pie
  • Soar, floor, door
  • Swoop, loop, hoop,
  • glide, ride, tied, cried

Once you have created a bank of words, have a go at drafting your poem about the osprey thinking about the picture you are creating. Remember that all poems are different so you don't have to rhyme every line or at all, but try to use some rhyming words to create a wonderful rhythm and picture in the reader's mind.

RE- This week you will be doing a recap of lots of the different aspects of Sikhism. Watch the videos and then have a go at the quiz at the end. Let us know how you do.
