Welcome

Tuesday 9th June 2020

Good morning!

Maths - Today we will work on division calculation. When working out division it is important to say the calculation the correct way. For example 20 ÷ 5 =     should be said as ' How many 5's are in 20?'  Then to work out the answer you can use your counting patterns by saying aloud ' 5, 10, 15, 20' and then asking yourself how many times did I count in 5's? I counted 4 times so 20 ÷ 5 = 4.

You can also use groups of dots (arrays). How many 5's are in 20 so  .....   5

                                                                                        .....  10

                                                                                        ..... 15

                                                                                        ..... 20

There are 4 groups of 5 in 20 so 20 ÷ 5 = 4

Try to solve these division equations using one of these methods. Your sheets are attached below.

English - Using your plans from yesterday, I would like you to type/write your alternative version of 'Lost and Found'. Think carefully about the sections of the story and the vocabulary and story language you will use to make the story as exciting as possible for the reader. I have created a 2create a story 2 do for you to use, or you can write it in your English books. Please check each sentence has the correct punctuation in it and that they all make sense. Read your story to someone in your house to make sure they can understand what you have written. Enjoy, good luck, knock my socks off!! smiley

Guided Reading - Please see yesterday's information for books, questions and activities.

PE- Remember that it is important to stay fit and healthy so continue to do some sort of exercise whether that is going for a walk, doing a Joe Wicks workout or perhaps have a go at the  this weeks virtual games challenge.
