Welcome

Thursday 4th June 2020

Good Morning!

Maths - Today we would like you to read information from a bar chart or pictogram and then answer questions about it. This is to show your understanding of the data. Please see the sheets that are attached below. Look for your maths group to find the right questions.

English- Today we would like you to think about the characters in the story and how they might be described. Think about what adjective and similes could be used. Write down some adjectives and similes down onto the sheet attached. When you are thinking about the characters think about how they move, talk and feel. Write down your ideas onto the template provided and then have a go at writing a character description. Remember to include adjectives, expanded noun phrases and similes as well as thinking about the exciting vocabulary choices you can use to engage your reader.

Science - We are starting a new topic all about the environment. In particular we are going to think about climate and climate change. This week we are going to think about global warming, what it is and what it means for our planet. Below you will find some powerpoints, an experiment write-up sheet and some matching cards. Details of the experiment are on one powerpoint. You can choose to complete it, or if you would prefer not to or don't have the equipment, then just complete the matching cards activity. The remaining powerpoint slides (sorry the file size was too big to upload them as one document) will help you with the matching activity.

This link to bbc bitesize also gives some useful information about climates and the greenhouse effect so make sure you have a look and listen. https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/z849q6f/articles/z7dkhbk  I hope you have fun.
