English: Choose one of the following pictures of safari animals and come up with a list of adjectives and adverbs to describe them.

A reminder:

  • Adjectives are words that describe a noun (a thing/object)
    • Describe what it looks like
    • Describe what it feels like
    • Describe what it smells like
    • Describe what it sounds like
  • Adverbs are words that describe a verb (an action/doing word)

Maths: Today we are revisiting money. Watch the video and see what coins there are and how we find the change. You could choose some objects from around the house and give them a price (a mug - 3p, a book - 5p, a teddy - 7p). How would we find the change if you had 10p? Can you write the subtraction number sentence? Can you solve it? You can use your number line again and your knowledge of number bonds to 10. Next, play the game; Click on 'mixed coins' and 'up to 20p'.

Go onto Purplemash and complete the activity 'Finding Change'.

Phonics: Today we are going to recap the spelling of ‘oe’ for the /oa/ sound. Before you complete the activity on Purplemash, recap the sound ‘oe’ in this short video

On Purplemash, your activity is to read the real and pseudo (alien/not real words) and colour code them. We have did an activity like this last week.

Guided Reading: After reading the book from yesterday, answer the comprehension questions. It would be a good idea if you have the book on another tab to look at the correct page. Find your book by signing in on

Art: Continue with your Safari Topic Art Projects. Click on 'Art' underneath Summer Projects on the previous web page and find one of the fun activities to do. Don't forget to email us your amazing creations so we can put them on the class blog!

PE: Complete Day 4 of the Tennis challenge and send us your picture or video of you completing the challenge. Take part as prizes can be won at the end of the week for possibly yourself and the school. Photos and videos create points and points make prizes. For more information, see virtual school games tab on our home learning page.
