January 2021

Happy New Year 2021!

We will be switching learning to Google Classroom with effect from tomorrow. Lessons will be narrated by a teacher. Each day we will have at least one live teaching session for children learning remotely, led by Mrs Watson or Mrs Maginnis, a teacher will also be available during set lesson times to support with the timetabled learning activity. Children working in school will be taught using exactly the same lessons and resources as children who are learning remotely at home.

Look at the document below to log in to Google Classrooms.

This half term we will be learning about Robots in History, Design and Technology, English, Computing and Art. We will also be learning and making links to our 'Robots' topic with Electricity in Science. Our guided reading text for this half term is 'The Iron Man' by Ted Hughes; please read the text with us as there are questions about predicting what is going to happen in the text. Maths will continue to follow the Inspire Math Scheme.

Please use the Year 4 email address (above) to contact us.

Best wishes

Mrs. Watson and Mrs Maginnis

Homework:

Homework will be set every Wednesday for a return date of the following Tuesday. The homework tasks will be set on Purple Mash and Google Classrooms. Please do not return homework to school on paper. I will check tasks on both platforms. Spellings will be tested in class on a Wednesday. Multiplication tables are tested on alternate days and children progress at their own pace.
