Nightingale Class

Nightingale Class will have P.E. on Thursdays 


Children will need to bring their P.E. kit to school for Thursday and take it home to wash each week. 


P.E. kit needs to include: 

  • change of t-shirt and shorts
  • jogging bottoms and sweatshirt if it is cold 
  • change of shoes - plimsolls or trainers
  • container for earrings - which must be removed for lessons (no tape)
  • hair bobble to tie long hair back

Autumn  term.


Welcome back to the new school year, we have lots of exciting things planned for this academic year.

The year 4 team are Mrs Maginnis for Nightingales and Miss Moyle for Swallows. We also have Mrs Hayward as the year 4 TA, Mrs Rodda as HLTA, Miss Day as named support in Nightingales and Mrs Dunston as named support in Swallows.


This half term we will be learning about the human body including the digestive system, this will be linked to Design and Technology and Science.  We will be learning about Ancient Greece in History, Spatial Awareness in Geography, Light in Art, Online safety in ICT, Composition in Music and Gospels in R.E.  Our guided reading text for this half term will be looking at Greek Myths;  Maths will continue to follow the Inspire Math Scheme. And English will be looking at the books "The Promise" by Nicola Davies and "Jungle Book" by Rudyard Kipling

Google Classroom Code of Conduct - Pupils and Parents. This document must be read, understood and turned in on Google Classroom.



Homework will be set every Wednesday for a return date of the following Monday. The homework tasks will be set on Purple Mash and Google Classrooms. Please do not return homework to school on paper. I will check tasks on both platforms. Spellings will be tested in class on Monday. Multiplication tables are tested on alternate days and children progress at their own pace.
