Start of term letter to parents - September 2021

2nd September 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

It was so wonderful to see our children return to school this morning. Now that they know their new classrooms, from tomorrow morning, they will not have to wait on the playground for their teacher but can walk straight into their classroom by themselves for an 8.50 start. You can collect them from outside their classroom door this afternoon at 3.20.

Since we broke up in July the Covid guidelines have changed quite a bit. As well as ‘Track and Trace’ responsibilities being removed from schools, we are no longer required to operate a bubble system or staggered start and finish times. Should we have a significant outbreak at school, however, we will be required to review the measures being taken.

In addition, the guidance around isolation has also changed. If your child is in direct contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 we recommend that you book a PCR test for them as soon as possible. In the meantime, unless they have symptoms, they are not required to isolate. Should the PCR test come back positive, they must then isolate for 10 days. I am attaching a more detailed flow chart for you to refer to.

If the government guidelines change further, I will be in touch.

Yours faithfully

Kate Lund
