I was appointed as a Community governor by the Governing Body in September 2014.
I taught at St. John's for twenty years and have close links with many of the ancillary staff and parents. During that time I was nominated for a Lifetime Achievement Award in Teaching and received my certificate from Lord Putnam and Charles Clark who was then Secretary of State for Education.
I have attended three courses to help fulfil my role as governor. In 2014 I took a Governor Induction Course. I also went on a course for Foundation Governors as I wanted to understand the role of a Governor in a church school.
In 2015 I attended a course on Monitoring and Evaluating the Curriculum.
I attend all meetings of the full Governing Body. I try to get into school as much as possible and visit the classrooms, talk to staff and children. I have helped a little in classrooms with year 6.
I have no business or pecuniary interests in the school.
