Maths - Today we will be finding approximate answers to calculations instead of actual answers! To do this we need to round the numbers to the nearest 10's number. First, we must look at the units digit and if it is 1, 2, 3 or 4 we round down to the nearest 10's number. If the units digit is 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9 we round up to the nearest 10's number. If the number already ends in 0 then we do not need to round it at all!
For example, 53 will round to 50 because the units digit is 3 so we round down.
68 will round to 70 because the units digit is 8 so we round up.
If we now add 50 to 70 the approximate answer will be 120.
For example 24 + 29 rounds to 20 + 30 = 50
Look at the calculations on the sheet attached below. Round each of the numbers and then find the approximate answer.

Kingfisher Full stops and Woodpecker Capital letters - Red or Yellow
Kingfisher Commas and Woodpecker Full stops - Orange

This week I would like to to write a review of the book you have read thinking about what you did/ didn't enjoy about the book and who you would recommend the book to.
As part of our recapping I would like to recap the 'un' prefix. Remember that prefixes come at the beginning of a sentence. Think about what 'un; means. There are a number of sentence activities to complete and a word search for you to complete.
The story on purple mash this week is all Ned and the jungle animals and there are the usual quizzes set for you to complete. I have added a PDF below which supports the text and gives some comprehension questions and some work on using question marks and full stops .
PSHE- Today I would like you be creative and I would you you to think about how you have felt over the last few months while we have not been at school. This time for all of you will have been different and I would like you express your emotions to explore how you have felt during this time. You could design a song, a piece of art, write a poem, or anything else of your own choice that reflects your emotions about how you are feeling at this time.
