Expect the Best

Welcome

Monday 20th July 2020

Hi Woodpecker class.

Well we have made it to the end of the year and the last few days of the term. It has been a brilliant and sad year. You are a wonderful class but it has been so sad that I haven't been able to teach you in school since March. Hopefully, these last 2 days will give you a chance to think about some good memories from our time together and do some work too!! Perhaps you could draw a poster, paint a picture, create a collage, write a poem, bake a cake, build a model ............. any thing you choose as long as it presents some memories of your time in Woodpecker class.  Please, please, please send in photos, via the year 2 email, of your creations because they will all be wonderful memories for me.

Maths - Have fun with this sandcastle stamper activity where you have to work out the mathematical clues to find out the mystery sandcastle stamper. Answers are included so no peeking!
English- As today is the penultimate day of term we would like you plan a letter to your new class teacher explaining what you have learnt in Year 2, what you have enjoyed doing and what you have improved at this year. You might also want to explain what you are looking forward to in Year 3. Remember to include the key features of letter writing including, an address, a date, a greeting, a reason for writing, paragraphs, sign off and name. You will be writing this letter tomorrow.

Guided Reading-  We have included a few guided reading activities for the last few days. We have included a comprehension and some word searches as well as a quiz that you can do with your families.

Art-  I would like you to share your memories from Woodpecker class. Perhaps you could draw a poster, paint a picture, create a collage, write a poem, bake a cake, build a model or anything else of your own choice that shares some of your memories from the year.
